About me and my work

I am a fully qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist registered with the UKCP. I work from a quiet, secure room in my garden with individuals, couples and families from the surrounding areas including Newquay, Truro, Falmouth and Penzance.

When something in our life is a struggle to live with, discovering more about it can bring deep relief. Perhaps something unexpected has happened or a more longstanding issue is weighing heavily on your life? In either case, I will support you to speak freely about your experiences in the present alongside an exploration of their context in your past. This space for reflection also includes the challenges and effects of society where class, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation are all important parts of my work.

A psychoanalytic approach is concerned with how unconscious thoughts and feelings can cause us to repeat patterns of behaviour or thinking we want to change. If left unexplored, these buried ideas can leave us confused about what we want and troubled in our relationships and lives. This struggle can take many forms from anxiety and depression to  physical symptoms and pain.*

I have been working as a psychotherapist in Cornwall for over five years, where I undertook the postgraduate psychoanalytic training offered by the SSCP (Society for Social and Critical Psychoanalysis), members of the accredited psychotherapy body UKCP.

I moved to Cornwall in 2016, previously living in London and working in the music and film business.

I recently published a paper in the European Journal of Psychotherapy and Counselling entitled “Mum’s The Word: Contemporary Mothering in a time of social, environmental and mental collapse”.

I practice in a quiet, private cabin in the garden of my home surrounded by trees. The room offers a secure environment to talk about whatever is on your mind.
